Does anyone here use this system for their CCTV? I realise this is a long shot, but the department having trouble with this hasn't got a support contract (so will cost £££ for support) and I'm not making much headway on my own. They are trying to import a configuration file, however: - If the software is opened without admin rights, they can see the config files but cannot import them. If the software is opened with admin rights, the config files cannot be seen in the import explorer window.
If anyone has any ideas or experience with this system, let me know. ' Is that for PC or MAC? I can test it here on my end if you can tell me what version your using. I use Hikvision/OEM stuff for customers here.'
PC, Windows 10. I believe it's v2.5.1.7 THEATRAIN wrote: When you say the software is opened with admin rights, do you mean you are signing in as the admin account for the software or are you running the application as a different user? I assume the first, just want to make sure. I just did a test export/import as admin and it worked. The import was done using the.zip that the export created, no issues. Where is the.zip stored?
They're running the application as a different user. Our polciy is that user's primary accounts cannot have admin rights, so those that require them have local admin credentials which they can enter when installing software etc.
I can't recall why off the top of my head, but there was an issue with installing the software directly under the admin account. The.zip was on a network share, but I got them to move it to the local drive and they still had the same issue. Rick A wrote: ' Is that for PC or MAC? If it does import, then try running as the regular user to see if the config sticks in that particular user when it's open. Rick A wrote: Sorry, do you mean log into the user's Windows admin account and try running the program from in there?
I assume so as I already mentioned that running 'as' admin from their standard account results in being nuable to see the config files. We could try that I guess, but like I said I seem to recall there was an issue running the program from within that account (not to mention that the local admin accounts are just there to provide credentials, they're not supposed to be used for working in).
What account did you use to install? Maybe uninstall it and try reinstalling it by using the account your trying to load the config with admin privileges and see if that works. Use Revo pro uninstaller, completely remove it and then reinstall it again. Did you try an older version of iVMS-4200 as well? Maybe corrupt registry entries for the program? Was it installed under Windows 7/8/8.1, then upgraded to 10 then stopped working? An older version has been tried, with the same result.
And nope, this is a clean image of Windows 10. How about file permissions? Does the user have read/write access to it? That shouldn't really be an issue but definitely worth checking out. Run the program as the logged on user, sign in as the admin of the DVR, import files from share and then from local. If that doesn't work Run the program as and administrative account, sign as the admin of the DVR, import files from share and then from local. Default location for my file was 'C: Program Files iVMS-4200 Station iVMS-4200 iVMS-4200 Client testconfig.zip' but I suspect that doesn't matter much. Close iVMS-4200 and run normally (if you can, we use an SDB file to run v2.4.1.4 without needing to elevate but I'm struggling to create an SDB file for 2.6.2.6) If the user has made any changes but has no write access to iVMS-4200's program folder they will not see your imported changes due to having their own copy in VirtualStore.
Delete the VirtualStore copy and launch again. Disappointing that Hikvision still insist that the iVMS-4200 software prompt for elevation. Didn't get this issue with Dedicated Micros' NetVu Observer.
